We’ll do our best to update this article when confirmed information becomes available. All we know so far with regards to the Predecessor release date is that we should expect to see an early access version in late 2021 and a finished game at some point in 2022. There is no confirmed or rumored Predecessor game release date at this stage. It might have failed, but sometimes these failures are needed so developers know what’s needed for when the game comes out for real. What’s important to remember here is this isn’t early access, or an Alpha or a Beta, it was a stress test. The servers did not cope too well with the volume of players that they had flooding in, and this inevitably took the servers - and then the whole stress test - down. Unfortunately, I didn’t actually manage to play the Predecessor game. Small bugs can also be ironed out in these early stages before they ever see the light of a public release. Stress tests like these primarily exist to test servers in order to see how they cope with increased quantities of players that play on various qualities of internet connections in different parts of the world. I was fortunate enough to get an invite to this test and what happened in it was interesting to say the least.
